Every chart of accounts organises accounts into five classes. This generator gives you a sensible base plus a handful of accounts common to your industry, using a standard numbering convention.
Assets, Liabilities, Equity, Revenue, and Expenses. The leading digit of each code marks its class, so 1xxx is an asset and 4xxx is revenue. This mirrors the framework shared by IFRS and US GAAP.
A SaaS chart adds deferred subscription revenue and hosting costs. Retail adds merchandise inventory. Manufacturing adds work in progress and direct materials. Services adds unbilled receivables.
Adapt the codes and names to your own reporting. Add sub-accounts, split cost centres, or renumber to match an existing system. This is a starting point to edit, not a prescribed chart.
The five account classes derive from the general financial-reporting frameworks below. They are the authority on how accounts are classified and presented.
This is a starting template to adapt, not a prescribed chart of accounts. Your final chart depends on your reporting needs, tax rules, and accounting policies. Review it with your accountant before you rely on it.
Rivane starts you with a chart of accounts, then keeps invoices, expenses, and reports on the same ledger.
